The Wisdom of Solomon (1st century BC, written in Greek) is a poetic book on wisdom, righteousness, and immortality. Its portrait of the ungodly plotting against 'the righteous man' who 'calleth himself a son of God', daring God to save him if his words are true, is strikingly close to the taunts flung at Jesus on the cross. Canonical for Catholics and the Orthodox; not in the Jewish or Protestant canon.
